1. About these Terms
visits.london (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a trading name of Abstract27 LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 07504698) with its registered office at 167-169 Great Portland Street, 5th Floor, London W1W 5PF.
By booking a tour with us you agree to the terms below. They form the contract between you (the customer) and Abstract27 LTD trading as visits.london.
2. Booking and confirmation
- Tours can be booked directly on any tour page on www.visits.london.
- We use TicketingHub as our booking and payment processor. The relevant processor’s own terms apply to the payment transaction.
- Once your booking is processed you will receive a confirmation email containing your booking reference, meeting point, start time and your guide’s contact details. If you do not receive a confirmation, contact us via https://www.visits.london/contact/ before the tour.
3. Prices, payment, currency
- All prices are quoted in pounds sterling (£/GBP) and are payable in full at the time of booking.
- Adult and child rates, and any group discounts, are displayed on each tour page. We reserve the right to update prices at any time; the price displayed at the time of your booking is the price that applies to that booking.
- Private tours start from £250 (half-day) and £450 (full-day); the final quote is provided in writing.
- Abstract27 LTD is not currently VAT registered, so no VAT is charged.
4. Group size
Our scheduled walking tours are capped at 12 participants per guide to keep groups small enough that everyone can see, hear and engage with the guide. Private tours, school groups and corporate groups can exceed this on request; group size is agreed in writing before payment.
5. Nominative tickets
Bookings are personal to the people named on the confirmation. Tickets are not transferable to a third party without our prior written consent. We may refuse boarding to anyone whose name does not match the booking.
If you need to swap a participant, contact us in advance and we will do our best to accommodate, subject to availability.
6. Cancellations, changes and refunds
- By you, more than 48 hours before the tour start time: free cancellation, full refund.
- By you, within 48 hours of the tour start time: non-refundable. We will try to help you reschedule to a later date subject to availability, but we are not obliged to do so.
- No-shows: treated as a late cancellation. No refund.
- Modifications: email us with your booking reference and we will help you change the date, time or number of participants where availability allows.
- By us: if we have to cancel a tour (insufficient bookings, illness, force majeure, public safety etc.) we will offer you the choice between a full refund or rescheduling to another date.
7. Weather
Our tours run rain or shine. Bring weather-appropriate clothing and footwear.
If the Met Office issues a severe weather warning (Amber or Red) for the tour day, we will contact you at least 2 hours before the start time to discuss rescheduling.
For the Changing of the Guard tour: the official ceremony may be reduced or cancelled by the British Army in very bad weather, during state visits, or for security reasons. This is the Army’s decision, not ours. In that case our tour still runs in full with royal history, sightseeing and all stops — no refund is given for an Army-cancelled ceremony.
Indoor tours (e.g. British Museum) are unaffected by weather.
8. Late arrivals
Tours depart promptly at the scheduled time. Your booking confirmation includes the guide’s direct contact details. If you are running late, contact the guide as soon as possible and we will do our best to help you catch up or arrange an alternative. We cannot guarantee a refund if you miss the tour.
9. Children and minors
- Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who books the tour and is responsible for them throughout.
- Children under 16 are not admitted unaccompanied.
- Discounted child rates (where shown) apply only when booked together with the accompanying adult.
10. Accessibility
Our walking tours typically cover 2–3 miles on city pavements and park paths, including some stairs and uneven surfaces. They are not wheelchair-accessible by default. The British Museum tour is largely step-free and indoors. If you have specific accessibility needs, contact us before booking and we will advise on the most suitable option.
11. Pets
Pets are not permitted on our tours, with the exception of registered assistance/service animals. Please let us know in advance if you will be bringing an assistance animal.
12. Conduct
We reserve the right to remove from a tour any participant whose behaviour is, in the reasonable opinion of the guide, unsafe, disruptive, abusive or otherwise inappropriate for a group setting (including being significantly under the influence of alcohol or drugs). No refund is owed in such cases.
13. Photography and recordings
You are welcome to take personal photos and videos during the tour for your private use. By participating you also accept that the guide may take photographs or short videos of the group during the tour for our own promotional use (website, social media, newsletter). If you do not wish to appear, let the guide know at the start of the tour and we will respect that.
14. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability where it cannot be limited by law (including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation).
Subject to the above, our total liability arising out of or in connection with any one booking is limited to the amount you paid for that booking.
We are not liable for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control (force majeure), including public transport disruption, third-party venue closures, museum or royal residence closures, Tube strikes, state events, severe weather warnings and similar.
You take part in the tour voluntarily and are responsible for your own safety, valuables and personal belongings during the tour. We recommend taking out personal travel insurance.
15. Intellectual property
All content on www.visits.london, and all itineraries, scripts and printed or digital materials provided during a tour, are the intellectual property of Abstract27 LTD. They are made available to you for personal, non-commercial use only. Reproduction, redistribution or commercial use without our prior written consent is not permitted.
16. Personal data
Booking data and email addresses you provide to us are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We use Ghost (CMS), TicketingHub (booking and payments), Tally (contact form) and Mailgun (newsletter) as data processors. We do not sell your data.
17. Complaints
If something goes wrong during a tour, please tell the guide on the spot so we can try to fix it. For complaints after the tour, contact us via https://www.visits.london/contact/ within 14 days of the tour date. We aim to respond within 5 working days.
18. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms and any dispute arising under them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The English courts have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to your statutory consumer rights to bring proceedings in your country of residence where the law allows.
19. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force is the one published on www.visits.london at the time of your booking. Material changes will be communicated in advance where reasonably possible.
